Notlar	The letter and its enclosure relates to the deposition of Shaikh Saeed bin Tahnoon [Sa’id bin Tahnun] of Abu Dhabi. The enclosure is a letter (folio 112) addressed to Kemball from the British Agent at Muscat, Khoja [or Khojeh] Hiskale, dated 14 July 1855. Hiskale’s letter reports on the circumstances leading to the Shaikh’s deposition, principally a loss of support from the Beniyas [Bani Yas] tribes, following a death sentence placed by the Shaikh on an elder under protection of the tribe, who was involved in a blood feud. \| 2 folios \| more \| less
