Notlar In this letter, James Dow, Assistant Surgeon, temporarily in charge of the Residency, encloses a copy of a letter which he has received from Captain Robert Taylor, who is in charge of the Residency at Bussora [Basra], together with an extract of a letter addressed to Taylor by the Resident at Bagdad [Baghdad], Claudius James Rich. Dow reports that he has been instructed by Taylor to prevent anything addressed or belonging to subjects of the Pashalie from being landed at Bushire. Dow states that he will continue to carry out Taylor's instructions until he has received the Board's commands on the subject.
