Notlar The letter reports the arrival of the BetseySnow (Captain David Phillips) and Bombay MerchantSnow (Captain Charles Virtue). The letter reports news that the French at Myhie [Mahe] had capitulated to Colonel Braithwaite. Annual books (up to 30 April 1779) are said to be enclosed with the letter (although they are not included in the file) and the year's finances are discussed in detail. It is reported that after Carim Cahn's [Karim Khan] death the Chaub [the Banu Ka'b tribal confederacy] had taken 2 dows and a boat belonging to Bushire but they had subsequently been returned after an order from Zackey Cahn [Zaki Khan]. The letter also outlines the latest developments of the conflict between Sadoo Cahn [Sadiq Khan] and Zackey Cahn, the latter's eventual killing is described in detail as is a massacre committed by Zackey Cahn's forces (at his orders).
