Notlar The file concerns objection statements (accounting queries) made by the Office of the Accountant General, Central Revenues, New Delhi against items of expenditure made by the Political Agency, Bahrain (also referred to as Bahrein).The correspondence is mainly between the Office of the Accountant General, Central Revenues, New Delhi and the Political Agent, Bahrain. There is also correspondence from the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; the Assistant Political Agent, Bahrain; Captain Roy Douglas Metcalfe, Publicity Officer, Persian Gulf, Bahrain; the Political Officer, Trucial Coast, Sharjah; and other British officials in the region.The objection statements raise issues concerning items of expenditure on travel allowances; pay of Agency staff; rent; postage and telegraph charges; payments to the General Provident Fund; and office expenses, and are accompanied by certificates issued by the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf and the Political Agent, Bahrain sanctioning the items of expenditure in question, and related correspondence.The date range gives the overall dates of the main run of correspondence; the last dated addition to the file is an entry in the notes on f 298 dated 27 February 1944. | 1 file (297 folios) | The correspondence is arranged in chronological order from the front to the rear of the file, except where enclosures of an earlier date are filed after their relevant covering letter, and terminates with a set of notes between folios 260-298.
