Notlar	The letter offers MacLeod's congratulations to Faithfull on his appointment to the permanent command of the Marine Force in the Gulf of Persia. He informs Faithfull that he has received responses from Government, the extracts of which he encloses (not included, but indicated by despatches listed by date and paragraph number in the left hand margin). MacLeod writes that the instructions are clear and Faithfull should communicate them to the officers under his command.
