Notlar In this letter to Commodore George Robinson, Commander of the Persian Gulf Squadron, Arnold Burrowes Kemball, Resident in the Persian Gulf, refers to a letter, received on this day, from Her Majesty's Consul and Honourable Company Agent at Zanzibar, regarding the liability of the Joasmee [Āl Qāsimī] Chief, Sheikh Sultan ben Suggur [Sulṭān bin Saqr Āl Qāsimī], for an incident on the African coast in the Spring of last year, where a vessel was plundered by one of his subjects. Kemball encloses a copy of a letter (not included) to the Chief, inviting him to pay the sum of 190 dollars (the estimated value of the vessel, which is detailed at the end of the letter) into Robinson's hands.
