Notlar	This file contains correspondence between British officials, oil company executives and local rulers regarding the exploration for oil (and the granting of oil concessions) in the Trucial Coast region.The correspondence primarily relates to the activities of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company and its subsidiary, D'Arcy Exploration Limited.The file contains letters (some of which are in Arabic) from local rulers including Shaikh Sultan bin Salim Āl Qāsimī, the ruler of Ra's al-Khaymah; and Shaikh Shakhbut bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the ruler of Abu Dhabi. \| 1 file (85 folios) \| The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the file. \| Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the inside front cover with 1 and terminates at the inside back cover with 85; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio.
