Notlar	Letter informing Charles Umpherston Aitchison, Foreign Secretary to the Government of India, that the Special Commission is expected to finish the following week and requesting instructions regarding proceedings against those persons, other than His Highness the Gaekwar, implicated in the plot to poison Colonel Robert Phayre.The letter goes on to request instructions regarding the individuals implicated in the murders of Bhou Scindia and Govindjie Naique, whom he assumes cannot be released until the cases have been looked in to; and witnesses in both these cases and the attempted poisoning who are under police protection and for whom it may be detrimental to their lives to release them.The letter also encloses reports from Doctor George Edwin Seward, Residency Surgeon, and Captain Freeman Henry Jackson, Assistant Resident showing the rules that have been enforced, arrangements made and treatment received by prisoners confined at the Residency and prisoners implicated and accursed in the case of attempted poisoning of Colonel Robert Phayre.Letter from Captain Freeman Henry Jackson, Assistant Resident, Baroda to Colonel Sir Lewis Pelly, Agent Governor General and Special Commissioner, Baroda 7 March 1875 reporting on the treatment of prisoners in the Custody of the European Guard at the Treasury Buildings in the compound of the Residency. The letter gives detailed descriptions of the rooms each individual held there; measures taken to prevent the prisoners communicating with anyone; illnesses suffered which the Captain ascribes to their lack of exercise since imprisonment; the responsibilities of the prisoners relatives in supplying food, clothes and basic comforts; and the daily visits to them from both Captain Jackson and Dr Seward.Instructions for the Guard over the four prisoners in the Residency compound.
