Notlar The letter is reporting that Sooltan been Suggur [Sulṭān bin Saqr] has provided the Resident with a letter (which has been passed on to Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd, the Imam of Muscat) ordering the Governor of Brymee, Mahomed been Sallem, to give up the fort to the bearer of the aforementioned letter. It therefore notes that the Resident has recommended that the Imam should dispatch a body of men to Brymee to demolish the fort there, now that Sooltan has given him the authority to do so; should Sooltan throw any obstacles in the way of this objective, the British will support the Imam in taking any measures he sees fit. It is noted that the company's broker at Muscat, Goolaub Anendass, will accompany the force to Brymee.Enclosed is a translation of a letter received by the Resident from Sooltan been Suggur at Sharga dated 30 April 1825. The enclosure is authorising the destruction of the towers of Brymee, along with the ditch and towers of Sebarah. It further requests the Resident's assistance with seizing Mohomed been Sallem, the Governor of Brymee. | 4 folios | more | less
