Notlar In this letter, William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, encloses the following letters (not included): copies of two of his letters to the Governor in Council, Mounstuart Elphinstone, regarding Rahma Ben Jauber [Rahma bin Jabir] and a copy of his letter of 14 February 1820 to Francis Warden. Bruce reports that before leaving Bushire, he sent a copy of the General Treaty to Bahrain so that it could be signed by Shaiks Abdolla Ben Ahmed [‘Abdullāh bin Aḥmad Āl Khalīfah] and Soleeman Bin Ahmed al Khallifah [Shaikh Sulmān bin Aḥmad Āl Khalīfah]. Bruce states that Rahma Bin Jauber [Rahma bin Jabir] has joined the force assembling under the order of His Royal Highness Hossain Alee Merza [Ḥusayn ‘Alī Mīrzā], who intends to attack Bahrain. The letter concludes with Bruce opining that the expedition, if it proceeds, will not be successful. | 2 folios | more | less
