Notlar In this letter to Arnold Burrowes Kemball, Resident in the Persian Gulf, Commodore George Robinson, Commander of the Persian Gulf Squadron, forwards a copy of a letter, dated 21 September (no. 13), from Lieutenant David Rose Dakers, Commander of the HC brigantine, the Tigris, containing intelligence relating to the lower part of the Gulf. In the attached letter, Dakers recounts his visit to the pearl banks before reporting information, obtained at Sharja [Sharjah], regarding the unsettled state of the Batnah [Al-Bāṭinah] coast. Dakers states that an invasion of the area is threatened by Abdullah ben Fyzel [Faisal bin Turki bin Abdullah Āl Sa‘ūd, ruler of the Second Saudi State], as a consequence of the non-payment of a residue tribute, which was promised to him by His Highness the Governor of Muscat [Sayyid Thuwaynī bin Sa‘id al-Sa‘id]. | 3 folios | more | less
