The correspondence, chiefly exchanged between HM’s Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary at Tehran, Robert Henry Clive, and the Foreign Office in London, concerns: the impact of the law upon British subjects in Persia; reciprocal treatment for Persians; application of the law to Iraqi subjects living in Persia; current practice in the Indian courts.The file contains a single item in French: the text of the law in question, originally published in the Messager de Téhéran(f 50).The file includes a divider, which gives a list of correspondence references contained in the file by year.
