Notlar 'Memo: relative to the proceedings of Mahomed Omar Khan Barucksye [Barakzai], Governor of Bukwa Bakwāh], in my regard'.The memorandum details Pelly's arrival in Keertah [Kirtah], in the plain of Bukwa; his immediate thoughts on the village and the abrupt entrance of the Khan.The memorandum goes on to detail Pelly's meeting with the Khan, including their discussions on the dangers of the roads Pelly was travelling on; the recent movements of Ibrahim Khan, Chief of Seistan [Sīstān], including an attempt on his life by his sons who had fled and were seeking refuge with Mahomed Omar Khan.The letter also reports on an assembly held by the Khan following his meeting with Pelly; his attempts to depart from the village which were delayed by the Khan owing to his concern's for Pelly's safety; and detailing his eventual departure from the village and the individuals assigned by the Khan to accompany him.The file contains a draft copy of the memorandum, with crossings out and corrections; and a fair copy which was to be submitted to Government. | 1 file (4 folios) | Foliation: The file has been foliated using a pencil number enclosed in a circle in the top right hand corner of the recto of each folio. | more | less
