The author states in the preface that after composing the first volume of a commentary entitled Khazāʼin al-asrār wa-badāʼiʻ al-afkār, he found that it would be ten volumes; so he composed this present abridged work. \| Binding note: Later type II (with flap) binding in red leather. Blind-stamped mandorla with pendants, corner and edge designs, and decorative edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap. Gold-sprinkled orange paper pastedowns.
