Notlar	In this letter, James Dow, Assistant Surgeon, temporarily in charge of the Residency, refers to Price's letter of 20 July and states that, in response to Ferdinand Price's request for a loan of any sum of money not exceeding one lak [lakh] of Bombay rupees, he has raised a sum of money equal to 50,000 rupees and has granted a set of bills on the Government of Bombay. Dow confirms the receipt of the bills that Price sent by the Psycheand points out that they do not correspond with the amount of specie procured.
