Notlar The letter is informing the Bombay Government that the Resident returned to Bushire on 14 January 1825.It reports that Prince Hossen Ali Mirza [Ḥusayn ‘Alī Mirzā] intends to embark on a tour of the Chaub country and Bebehan [Behbehān], and that he has instructed the Shaikh of Bushire, ‘Abd al-Rasūl Khān, to meet him. It notes that the latter fears the Prince may use the opportunity to seize him, and that the Shaikh has once again sought reassurances of British neutrality in the event of a rupture. The letter outlines the provisions the Shaikh has made to protect his family in case of such an eventuality, and notes that his younger brother Shaikh Abdoola [‘Abdullāh] is currently being held at Shiraz. The Resident's plans for the resumption of his tour of the Arabian coast are detailed in the letter, and it is noted that Rahma been Jauber [Raḥmah bin Jābir] remains quiet. It also notes that the latter has thanked the Resident for securing the release of his son's family from the Shiraz Government, but mentions that his boat still remains at Bushire at the expense of Government. | 3 folios | more | less
