The subjects Kemball discusses include: relations between the Wahabee [Wahhābī] and the Joasmee [Qāsimī] tribes; intrigues of the Wahhābī lieutenant Syed Ahmed el Soodeynee on the Arab coast and in Oman; the siege of Himireeah [Ḩamrīyah] by Shaikh Sultan ben Suggar [Sultan bin Saqr]; isolated incidents of piracy; the increasing decrepitude of Shaikh Sultan bin Saqr.Enclosed with Kemball’s report is letter no.1C (folios 95-96) from Kemball to Lieutenant Alexander Foulerton, Senior Naval Officer in the Persian Gulf, dated 4 June 1855.
