Notlar The letter regards an incident at Haweleh, in which the local population assisted Shaikh Mahomed [Muḥammad] with the capture of a boat belonging to his brother Shaikh Tahnoon [Ṭaḥnūn bin Shakhbūṭ Āl Nahyān]; Shaikh Mahomed and Shaikh Tahnoon are engaged in a private feud. This incident was outlined in the Resident's report to the Bombay Government, dated 28 April 1824.It is explained in the letter that the Resident has treated the incident as piratical because he considered the case to be an exception to the rule, and not because he believed that he should be interfering in private feuds; the Governor of Bombay is displeased with the line the Resident has taken on the incident. | 2 folios | more | less
