Notlar Large painted limestone Ushabti of Dhutmosi "Greatest of the Five" in the Dress of Life grasping a Ded amulet and one other uncertain object. One column of inscription on front of skirt, five rows of inscription around back of skirt. Object is larger than the average ushabti. A good specimen of Late Empire [New Kingdom] work. Wig painted bright blue, eyes inlaid in black and red, lips red, and necklace green and blue, dress white with red stripes. Inscription painted in black. Condition: Poor, feet missing; figure broken into 3 pieces and crudely glued together. Large chip missing from back of hips; wig chipped. Numerous minor chips. Inscription badly stained, painted worn. | more | less
