Notlar	Letter of introduction from the teacher Judah b. Aaron al-ʿAmmānī in Alexandria to Abū l-Majd Meʿir b. Yaḵin. It concerns a man who had moved from Sicily to Alexandria, but a failed eye operation there had left him blind. The local community there supported him, his wife, and two young children, for a year and a half, but when it came to light that he had relatives in the city public assistance was withdrawn and he was forced to leave Alexandria. He has now arrived in Fusṭāṭ, and the community there is asked to take care of the man and his family as he is a deserving person, worthy of their charity. The letter is sent jointly from a number of Alexandrian officials, and mentions Hilāl, Moses b. Ḵalīfa, Saʿīd Ibn al-Qaš, Abū ʿAmar al-Levi Ibn al-Baḡdādī, Abū Imran b.
