Notlar James Dow, Assistant Surgeon, temporarily in charge of the Residency, acknowledges Robert Waite's letter of 3 November 1820, which requested Dow's assistance towards raising on the public account the sum of 50,000 Bombay rupees. Dow refers to instructions that he has received from Captain Thomas Perronet Thompson and Lieutenant Ferdinand Price and states that he had no difficulty in procuring the amount required. Dow states that bills payable on the Governments of Calcutta or Madras would be preferable to those on Bombay, and he encloses a list (not included) of the rates of exchange between the currencies of Bushire. | 1 folio | more | less
