Notlar The file contains the application made by Frank Holmes for the Eastern and General Syndicate Limited to renew the 1925 oil concession in Bahrain. Copy of the Concession Draft Agreement in English and Arabic, with Sheikh Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifah, Ruler of Bahrain, is enclosed in an envelope (ff 3r-25v).The file also contains letters from the Political Agent at Bahrain and the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, receiving the Colonial Office's advice to suggest to the Ruler of Bahrain not to accept Holmes's request until the clause saying that the Eastern and General Syndicate Limited had the right to acquire land was changed. | 1 file (35 folios) | The papers in the file are arranged in chronological order. | Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover with 1, and terminates at the inside back cover with 37; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio.
