Notlar	The letter informs of the appointment of Captain MacLeod. This is a translation of an original Persian letter, a copy of which can be found on folio 93. There is a note at the end of the letter (f. 97v) informing that 'similar letters [were sent] to the Shaikhs of Bushire [‘Abd al-Rasūl Khān] and of Buhrain [Bahrain, ‘Abdullāh bin Aḥmad Āl Khalīfah], to the Imaum of Muskat [Imam of Muscat, Sa‘īd bin Sulṭān Āl Bū Sa‘īd] with suitable alterations'.
