Notlar In this letter James Dow, Assistant Surgeon, temporarily in charge of the Residency, reports the news of the death of Dr Andrew Jukes, Political Agent in the Persian Gulf, which occurred at Issfahan [Eşfahān] on 10 November, following a short illness of seven days. Dow states that he intends to forward Jukes's personal effects to his relations at Bombay. In addition, Dow reports that he has discharged all the public servants belonging to Jukes's establishment, with the exception of a few servants who are required to look after the horses and mules. Dow encloses a copy of a letter (not included) from Mr Fraser, who accompanied Jukes on his journey to Issfahan.The rest of the letter concerns arrangements for Jukes's personal effects to be sent to Bombay and for those public servants belonging to his establishment to be discharged | 2 folios | more | less
