Notlar	Letter regarding Rawlinson's marriage which was due to take place that week but which had been postponed owing to matters in Persia.The letter goes on to discuss Pelly's appointment in Persia and proposes that he apply to return to India via Herat and Cabul [Kabul] in order to demonstrate to Lord Canning the critical state of Afghanistan at that time.The letter goes on to discuss the state of Turkey and its relations with France and Russia as well as Rawlinson's next appointment which the India Office would prefer to be in Syria, but which Rawlinson hopes will be Constantinople.The letter concludes by discussing the political state of affairs in England including the possibility of a dissolution of the Cabinet which it is hoped the Conservative Party will attempt to avoid by calling a General Election. \| 2 folios \| more \| less
