Notlar	In this letter, James Dow, Assistant Surgeon, temporarily in charge of the Residency, acknowledges the receipt of Captain Thomas Perronet Thompson's letter of 3 December 1820, which enclosed a letter from Captain Robert Waite, the Pay Master to the force in the Gulf, requesting Dow's aid in raising 50,000 rupees at Bushire.
