Notlar This file contains correspondence related to the granting of a concession to Petroleum Development (Trucial Coast) Limited, a subsidiary of Petroleum Concessions Limited, for the right to explore for oil in the Shaikhdom of Kalba.The file contains copies of agreements made in this regard between Petroleum Concessions Limited and Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Regent of Kalba.The majority of the correspondence in the file is between British officials (primarily at the Political Agency in Bahrain and the India Office) and oil company executives and is therefore in English, but the file also contains some direct correspondence with Shaikh Khalid that is in Arabic (with English translations).The file contains a chart that compares the wording and terminology used in the oil concessisons that were granted in Dubai and Kalba (folios 14-17). | 1 file (127 folios) | The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the file. | Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover with 1, and terminates at the inside back cover with 127; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located at the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. An additional foliation sequence is present in parallel between ff 2-120; these numbers are also written in pencil, but are not circled.
