Notlar Title page and colophon give name of copyist as Shaykh Ḥamdallah (also known as Ibn al-Shaykh, 1429-1520); perhaps the single most important Ottoman calligrapher according to Irvin C. Schick (28 December 1989). According to Muhittin Serin, the copy is not in Shaykh Ḥamdallah's hand but was copied in its entirety, including colophon, by another calligrapher in imitation of his style (April 1993).
