Notlar The letter is acknowledging the receipt of a communication (No 1108) concerning the restoration of the Beny Boo Ali [Banī Bū ‘Alī] tribe. In response, it reports that the Resident has reached an agreement with Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd, the Imam of Muscat, to rebuild the tribes habitations in a 'permanent manner'. It further reports that he has consulted with the tribe's chief, Mohomed been Ali [Muḥammad bin ‘Alī], over their needs. The extent of the repairs needed to the tribe's dwellings and date plantations is therefore outlined in the letter, along with their expected cost.
