Notlar The letter expresses regret at the loss of Carrack [Kharg] to Meer Mahanna [Mīr Muhanna] and the subsequent threat to Bushire, but stipulates that the Company should not get involved in the disputes between the Mīr, the Dutch, and the Persian government. Approval is given for Jervis' accommodation of Dutch refugees from Kharg. The letter accompanies a shipment of broadcloth and long ells.Copied at the end of the letter is an extract from the orders of the Court of Directors in London, dated 26 Apr 1765. It is notification of the appointment of members to the Secret Committee, an instrument used to ensure the protection of the Company's shipping and to issue secret orders from London. The members appointed are Henry Crab [Crabb] Boulton (chairman), George Dudley (deputy), Charles Cutts, Robert Jones, Thomas Rous, and Henry Savage. | 1 folio | more | less
