Notlar The letter is an acknowledgement of receipt of Jones’s earlier letter, relating to a complaint made by Shaikh Sultan bin Saqr, chief of Russul-Khyma [Ra’s al-Khaymah], about his treatment by British officials in relation to the slave trade. Anderson writes that the Government approves of the general tenor of Jones’s reply to Shaikh Sultan, but finds great objection to some of the expressions Jones uses, citing his phrase “the fine creed of the Wahabee [Wahhābī] race” as an example. | 1 folio | more | less
