Notlar Samuel Hennell informs Justin Sheil of two recent actions performed by the Squadron of the Indian Navy: the handing over of 100 tomans as compensation for the crew of a Karrak [Bandar-e Chārak] boat after their vessel was plundered and detained at sea by members of the Huwajir tribe; and the recovery of cargo belonging to a Bushire buteel, which had been plundered by pirates off the entrance to the river Euphrates. This letter is followed by an enclosure: a translated substance of a note, dated 11 September 1850, from the Acting Governor of Bushire, Sheik Abdoollah, to Hennell, regarding the two aforementioned actions. | 2 folios | more | less
