The extracts mostly concern the appointment of Captain David Seton as Resident in Muscat, including his instructions from the Government of Bombay and details of salary and terms of employment. Other matters covered by the papers include:The appointment of Mr Bogle as surgeon to the Imam in early 1800 and his death later that yearCaptain John Malcolm's dealings with the Imam, including an agreement for a British agent to reside at MuscatThe effort to counter French influence in Muscat by the removal of all Frenchmen from the Imam's service.The extracts are mostly from political letters between the Government of Bombay and the Government of Bengal. Extracts from Bombay Political Consultations are also present.
