Notlar	This letter does not include the name of the recipient, but it is clearly James Dow's response to a letter from Robert Taylor, in Charge of the Residency, Bussora [Basra], which Dow referred to in the previous item in this volume, a letter to Francis Warden (see ff 71v-72). In this letter, Dow acknowledges the receipt of Taylor's letter of 23 February, which included an extract of a letter from Mr Ritch [Claudius James Rich], British Resident in Turkish Arabia. Dow agrees to prohibit all merchant men under British colours from landing at the port of Bushire any property imported from India which either belongs to or is consigned to subjects of the Pashalie. \| 1 folio \| more \| less
