Notlar	The letter relates to relations between Rahma bin Jabir [Raḥmah bin Jābir] and the neighbouring states of Bahrein [Bahrain] and Katiffe [Al-Qaṭīf]. Stannus had informed all the chiefs concerned of the intention of Government to remain neutral, and on finding no aggression had been attempted against the neutral trade, he had raised the blockade of Duman and withdrawn the Company's cruisers from the Bay of Katiffe.
