Notlar	In this letter James Dow, Assistant Surgeon, temporarily in charge of the Residency, refers to the improper and mutinous conduct of a fifer from the merchant vessel, the Udny. Dow requests that the fifer in question, John Neal, be received on board the Benares,so that following his arrival at Bombay he can be transferred to the civil authority with the accompanying documents and charges against him.
