Notlar The letter in a covering letter, enclosing copies of correspondence exchanged with Commodore George Robinson, Commanding Officer Persian Gulf Squadron, and relates to naval resources in the Gulf, in light of the current unrest then prevailing on the Batinah coast.The following enclosures follow Kemball's letter:Letter no.131 of 1853 (folio 221) from Commodore Robinson to Captain Kemball, dated 7 October 1853, with which Robinson encloses letter no.2171 (folio 222) dated 24 August 1853, received by him from the Commodore's Office in Bombay. The letters relate to the despatch from the Persian Gulf to Bombay of the Company schooner Constance, and the naval cover required in the Persian Gulf in the meantime;Letter no.311 of 1853 (folio 223) from Captain Kemball to Commodore Robinson, dated 7 October 1853, acknowledging receipt of Robinson's letter no.131, and requesting that the Constancerejoin the squadron at the earliest opportunity;Letter no.326 of 1853 (folio 224) from Captain Kemball to Commodore Robinson, dated 19 October 1853, in which Kemball requests that, in light of new intelligence reporting further unrest on the Batinah coast, the Constancepatrol the Arab coast while en route to Bombay. | 5 folios | more | less
