Notlar This letter primarily concerns Ephraim Gerrish Stannus's attempts to establish what became of the remains of a cargo of indigo, which was shipped from Calcutta in 1812 and reportedly seized at Bushire by Jaffir Khan [Muhammad Ja'far Khan]. In addition, Stannus states that a number of jewels belonging to the estate of Mahomed Nebbee Khan [Muhammad Nabi Khan, former Governor of Bushire] have been valued by some of the principal merchants at Bushire.
