Notlar The letter and its enclosure relate to the former ruler of Aboothabee [Abu Dhabi], Shaikh Saeed bin Tahnoon [Sa’id bin Tahnun], who has moved from Kenn [Kīsh] and sought asylum with Shaikh Sultan bin Suggur [Sultan bin Saqr] at Ra’s al-Khaymah. Enclosed with Kemball’s letter is the translation of a report (folios 130-32) from the British Agent at Sharjah, Hajjī Yaqoob, to Kemball, dated 2 July 1855. Yaqoob’s report contains details of Shaikh Sa’id bin Tahnun’s enquiries for asylum at Debai [Dubai] and Ra’s al-Khaymah, and further reports on the movement of the Soodan tribe from Biddah [Doha] to Khan [Al Khān]. | 4 folios | more | less
