Notlar The file contains telegrams, memoranda and correspondence regarding arrangements for official visits of the Naval Commander in Chief, East Indies Squadron (Rear Admiral Dunbar Nasmith), travelling with his wife to Bahrain and other Persian Gulf countries between 1933 and 1935 on board HMS Hawkins.The file contains programmes for HMS Hawkins, notes on protocol, arrangements for official dinners and meetings with ruling families in Bahrain and oil companies, list of British and foreign residents in Bahrain.The principal correspondents are: the Mesopotamia Persia Corporation Limited; Bahrain Petroleum Company Limited (BAPCO); Shaikh Hamad bin Isa al Khalifah, Ruler of Bahrain; Mohammad Bin Isa Al Khalifa; Shaikh ‘Abdullāh bin Jāsim Āl Thānī, Ruler of Qatar; the Adviser to the Government of Bahrain; the Naval Commander in Chief; the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; the Residency Agent at Sharjah; and the Political Agent at Bahrain.At the end of the file there are some letters housed in an envelope (folios 252-335), containing invitees' brief responses for a reception hosted by the Political Agent in the Naval Commander in Chief's honour.There are some documents in Arabic with English translation within the file, correspondence with local rulers and the Residency Agent at Sharjah. | 1 file (334 folios) | The papers in the file are arranged chronologically.
