Notlar	The file contains instructions from the office of the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, and the Government of India Finance Department to the Political Agency Bahrain concerning expenditure budgets.The papers cover: request for details of actual expenditure; proposals for reappropriation and additional grants; request for statement of fixed and contract grants; request for statement of excesses and savings; reminders to keep within sanctioned budget provision; instructions concerning provision of funds, control of expenditure, and submission of financial returns; instructions for new items in budgets; accuracy of budgeting; office allowances and contract grants; avoidance of budget excesses; appropriation accounts; control over progress of expenditure against appropriation; evaluation and timely surrender of savings; adjustment of debits for supplies and services; and instructions for the preparation of budget estimates.The date range gives the covering dates of the correspondence; the last dated addition to the file is a Political Agency, Bahrain receipt stamp on folio 59 dated 10 February 1948. There are no papers between 1937 and 1945. \| 1 file (58 folios) \| The correspondence is arranged in chronological order from the front to the rear of the file, except where enclosures of an earlier date are filed after their covering letter. \| Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover with 1 and terminates at the inside back cover with 60; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio.
