Notlar	The letter acknowledges the receipt of Faithfull's letter, dated 13 January 1823, with enclosures from Captain French. He writes that the Shaikh of Bahrain [Salmān bin Aḥmad Āl Khalīfah] has disavowed the acts of the people of the Batille, which has been captured by HMS Sophie. He informs Faithfull he has reported the incident to Government, no further communication with the shaikh is necessary and that he agrees with him that the services of cruizers cannot be spared nor are they required. \| 2 folios \| more \| less
