Much of the correspondence is between John Gilbert Laithwaite of the India Office and Gabbitas, Thring & Co Ltd., an educational consultancy based in London. The file also contains correspondence between Laithwaite and the Ruler of Kuwait, Shaikh Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah and a number of private tutors based in Oxford that were considered as potential hosts for Muhammad.The file includes a divider, which gives a list of correspondence references contained in the file by year.
