Notlar This file contains correspondence between the Political Agency in Muscat, the Government of India and the Sultan of Muscat and Oman, Faysal bin Turki. The correspondence concerns a disagreement that arose between the Agency and the Sultan as to whether or not he was obligated to fire a formal salute when British Political Officers left Muscat by boat. The issue was taken to the Government of India and it decreed that the Sultan was bound to do so. The letters sent to the Political Agency by Faysal are in Arabic (accompanied by English translations). | 1 file (28 folios) | The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the file. | Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover with 1, and terminates at the inside back cover with 30; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio.
