Notlar	The letter is responding to the commands of the Bombay Government (No 1279), dated 9 September 1822, which instructed the Resident to arrange for the mutual restoration of property taken by both the Shaikh of Bahrain and Rahma bin Jauber [Raḥmah bin Jābir]. It also instructed him to remonstrate with Shaikh ‘Abd al-Rasūl Khān, Governor of Bushire, in order to put a stop to his 'objectionable activities'.
