Notlar	The letter is a covering letter, transmitting a letter from Soultan bin Sugur bin Rashid bin Mutur, the chief of Sharjah [Shaikh Sultan bin Saqr], addressed to the Governor in Council of Bombay, dated 3 February 1856. Shaikh Sultan’s letter relates to the shipwreck and plunder of a vessel at Sharjah. the Sharjah ruler states that he has no means to pay the compensation, and that he feels he cannot be held responsible for a shipwreck that occurred beyond his power. \| 2 folios \| more \| less
