Notlar In this letter, William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, states that he returned to Bushire on 23 February 1820. The first part of this letter concerns supplies of flour, which are to be taken to William Grant Keir's forces on board the Honourable Company cruiser the Teignmouth, commanded by Captain Hall. Bruce informs Keir that twenty-six barrels of flour and twelve bags of salt remain and that either these can be sent to Rasselkhyma [Ra's al-Khaymah] or retained at Bushire, according to Keir's wishes. Bruce reports the return of Shaik Abdoll Russool Khaun [Shaikh ‘Abd al-Rasūl Khān], Governor of Bushire, who has been involved in a shipwreck. He goes on to write that His Royal Highness [Ḥusayn ‘Alī Mīrzā] has asked for two ships for the conveyance of troops to Bahrain, but his proposed mode of payment is such that Bruce has responded by stating that ships are not procured on such terms. Bruce asks for Keir's guidance on this subject and encloses a copy and translation of the eleventh article of the treaty with Persia (not included). | 1 folio | more | less
