The topics covered in the letters include: the evacuation of British merchants from Bushire; the separation of the town and district of Bussorah [Basra] from the Pashalie; death notices; a marriage certificate; and the plans of Rowland Macdonald Stephenson, Managing Director of the Calcutta Railway, for a railway from Europe through Turkey, Asia Minor, Persia, to the Indus. | 1 volume, 7 items (18 folios) | Pagination: There is a pagination sequence written in ink in the top right corner of the rectos and the top left corner of the versos.
