Notlar This file contains correspondence concerning a number of incidents in which vessels of the Persian Government detained or interfered with Arab vessels in the Gulf. The correspondence discusses the details of these incidents (most of which relate to Bahraini vessels) and also contains broader discussions about how Britain should react to them.On folios 53-55, the file contains the protocol agreed on in the event of a commanding officer of a British ship observing an Iranian warship or customs vessel interfering with a protected Arab vessel.The file also contains an original account (in Arabic and English) of a Bahraini captain named Ali bin Abdullah Al Naaimi written after he and his vessel had been detained by the Persian authorities in 1941 (f 61). | 1 file (92 folios) | The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the file. | Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover and terminates at the inside back cover; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. An additional foliation sequence is present in parallel between ff 4-85; these numbers are also written in pencil, and can be found in the same position as the main sequence, but they are not circled. | more | less
