Notlar List of 136 households (mostly women - with or without children, foreigners, disabled and the indigent) receiving approximately 570 loaves of bread. A postscript in Arabic characters on verso states that the whole document was written by Ephraim b. Maḥfūẓ (i.e. Ephraim b. Šemarya, the leader of the Jewish community of Fusṭāṭ during the first half of the 11th century). Witnessed by Ismaʿīl b. Ṭalyon (i.e. Samuel b. Avṭalyon, a prominent member of the Palestinian congregation), and two others.
